COMBINING A FABULOUS NEW SALON FIT OUT WITH A NOD TO IT'S HERITAGE LISTED BUILDING
Owner, Ashleigh Maguire appointed G & K Projects to undertake a design for the Heritage listed tenancy in Teneriffe, along the banks of the beautiful Brisbane River this location lends it’s self to the type of facility.
The brief was to create a space that lends it’s self to modern, new and exciting hair designs and treatments whilst at the same time enhancing the old natural timbers and brick works which were used to build the buildings at the ‘’Wool Sheds’’.
The stunning timbers were from old wool ships and clay bricks used for ballast within the ships holds on the inward trips to Australia, the bricks were off loaded to give space for the wool bails for the long return trip.
Natural timbers, Recycled stone tops & the subtle use of mirrors and tiles were used in the salon fit out to create this experience, with raised floor to house the luxurious hair wash units, LED lighting was introduced behind the cutting station mirrors to give adequate light to enhance the colour of tints and highlights for both the client’s and hair stylists.
The next step in this development is a new coffee shop, soon to be in the pipeline
